Fall 2014

Alpha Phi Sorority (Panhellenic Council)

Description: On Sept. 27, 2014, Alpha Phi sorority hosted a wine tour during which a member required medical attention for alcohol related illness. The member was transported to the hospital and released soon thereafter.

Outcome: The Greek Judicial Board found the chapter responsible for violating the Expectations for Membership as it relates to the health and safety of its members and the provision of alcohol to individuals less than 21 years of age. As a result, the eight weeks of social probation imposed on the chapter by the International Fraternity was endorsed by the Greek Judicial Board; educational sanctions on alcohol and policy 80% or more of the chapter must attend; and required the chapter to meet with representatives of the Panhellenic Council and Office of Fraternities, Sororities, and Independent Living twice in the Spring 2015 semester as follow-up.
